    Don Wilcher is a passionate educator of electronics and robotics technology and an Electrical Engineer with 26 years of experience. His authored several books on Lego Robotics, and Arduinos. His latest book published by Maker Media titled, Make: Basic Arduino Projects, has been approved by the Alabama State Department of Education to be on their reading list. He’s also a Certified Electronics Technician (CETa) and Exam Administrator (CA) with ETA International as well as State Certified Teacher for Career Technical Education (CTE) as a Level 2 Specialist in Electronics Technology. He’s worked on industrial robotic systems, automotive electronic modules/systems, and embedded wireless controls for small consumer appliances. While at Chrysler Corporation, Don developed a weekend enrichment pre-engineering program for inner city kids. He’s Contributing Writer and webinar lecturer for Design News Magazine. Also, Don is an Electronics and Robotics Technologists developing twenty-first educational products and training materials for Makers, hardware startup entrepreneurs, and educators.

    Dr. Don Wilcher is an Electrical Engineer, Engineering-Technical Education Educator, Embedded Systems Lecturer and Electronics book author. He has worked on plant industrial robotics, control systems, and designed automotive interior electronic systems and consumer appliances when employed at General Motors, Chrysler Corporation, Usui International Corporation, and Sumitomo Wiring Systems since 1986. While employed at Hunter Fan, he researched and developed LED light fixtures and wireless motor controls as well as an electronics control unit to reduce 300 watts of lighting power to 180 watts without a noticeable drop in illumination. He was also the former Department Chair for the School of Electronics Technology of ITT Technical Institute at the Madison, AL campus. Dr. Don Wilcher has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University, and Master of Science in Education Innovation and Technology (Graduation with Distinguish), and Doctor of Education degrees, both from Capella University.
