Then an actress speaks a line Lena wrote at twenty-one. The production is presented as an unpublished work by celebrated playwright Aleksander Wolski, dead for three years. Its director is Michał.
Old emails, notes, drafts, photographs and archival records reveal a history more complicated than simple plagiarism. Michał sent their manuscript to Wolski without Lena's permission. He credited her, but made choices that were not his to make. Wolski knew the text belonged to two young writers, yet continued using material that was not fully his.
Each document changes the past; each answer creates another question. While Lena and Michał try to establish what happened to their play, they must confront what happened between them. Professional cooperation opens the unfinished story they abandoned years earlier.
Can the adults they became ask instead of assume, speak before silence becomes convenient and build a future without requiring one to sacrifice everything? Rehearsals, theater lights, late-night writing, professional ambition and approaching flights leave the question increasingly difficult to postpone.
Lena must decide what trust means when forgiveness is not automatic and love does not erase consequences. Returning to someone is not necessarily returning to who you used to be, and saving a shared work does not settle every question about a shared life.
