Coral Sinclair is a beautiful but naive twenty-five-year-old photographer who has just lost her father. Shes leaving the life shes known and traveling to Kenya to take ownership of her inheritancethe plantation that was her childhood homeMpingo. On the voyage from England, Coral meets an enigmatic stranger to whom she has a mystifying attraction. She sees him again days later on the beach near Mpingo, but Corals childhood nanny tells her the man is not to be trusted. It is rumored that Rafe de Monfort, owner of a neighboring plantation and a nightclub, is a notorious womanizer having an affair with her stepmother, which may have contributed to her fathers death.

Circumstance confirms Corals worst suspicions, but when Rafes life is in danger she is driven to make peace. A tentative romance blossoms amidst a meddling ex-fiancé, a jealous stepmother, a car accident, and the dangerous wilderness of Africa. Is Rafe just toying with a young womans affections? Is the notorious womanizer only after Corals inheritance? Or does Rafes troubled past color his every move, making him more vulnerable than Coral could ever imagine?

O autorze książki

Hannah Fielding was born and grew up in Alexandria, Egypt, the granddaughter of Esther Fanous, a revolutionary feminist and writer in Egypt during the early 1900s. Upon graduating with a BA in French literature from Alexandria University, she travelled extensively throughout Europe and lived in Switzerland, France and England. After marrying her English husband, she settled in Kent and subsequently had little time for writing while bringing up two children, looking after dogs and horses, and running her own business renovating rundown cottages. Hannah now divides her time between her homes in Ireland and the South of France. She has written eight novels, beginning with Burning Embers. Hannah's books have won various awards, including Best Romance for Aphrodite's Tears at the International Book Awards, National Indie Excellence Awards, American Fiction Awards, NABE Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards and New York City Big Book Awards and Best Romance for Indiscretion at the USA Best Book Awards.
